GameON: Finance announces keynote
Dave EderyWorldwide Games Portfolio Planner for Xbox Live Arcade and author, David Edery will be a keynote speaker at GameON: Finance, taking place October 28th and 29th in Toronto.
 
Edery is a research affiliate of the MIT Comparative Media Studies Program (CMS) and the author of the upcoming book, Changing the Game: How Video Games are Transforming the Business World which examines how to use video games to drive innovation, customer engagement, employee commitment, and profit.

In addition to keynote presentations, GameON: Finance will feature case studies and panel discussions focused on business opportunities in the games sector, as well as networking breaks and facilitated one-on-one meetings between game developers, investors, and industry innovators.

GameON: Finance returns in October 2008 to Toronto

July 22, 2008 (Toronto) - Interactive Ontario today announced that GameON: Finance 2.0 will take place October 28th and 29th in Toronto.

This investment summit is designed to bring investors and video game developers together to explore financing possibilities for the Canadian games industry.

GameON: Finance 2.0 will take place at the Suites at One King West in Toronto. The first annual GameON: Finance conference, which was held earlier this year, was an industry success and will be happening annually each Fall.

Nathon kicked off the case studies by sharing his financing experiences, which include an adventurous $8m raise during web 1.0 as well as his recent and more successful efforts to secure millions in financing for a web 2.0 game initiative (from a mix of public, private and angel investors). Tips and tricks learned the hard way from Toronto to Silicon Valley will be shared, followed by a discussion to be based on questions from the audience.
